New single: ‘Laura’ by MEGA EMOTION

Release date: November 23, 2018 (Fake Feelings)

Laura is about love, lust and dreaming of a future together. It’s about the girl at school who never really knew how you felt, about unrequited love, and still burning inside. It’s forever remembering the ghosts of a moment and the warmth of a smile. It’s a Chvrches-esque synth-pop uplifting track that hopes for more…

The track was borne out the #FromMEtoYou project, where the band recorded personal tracks for the first 50 people to buy their EP tape release.

Mega Emotion play drums and percussion over electronic beats and build walls of sound that loop dirty baselines against pumping synths and scuzzy guitars. They wear floor-length ceremonial robes, with faces dusted in glitter and stars swept through their hair.

The band’s debut BRAINS won Steve Lamacq’s Roundtable on BBC 6 Music. Their demo material has been championed by BBC Introducing and played by DJs including John Kennedy, Mark Radcliffe, Tom Robinson, Tom Ravenscroft and Nemone.

“Part Pixies noise-fest, part 80s synth sunset. I f*cking love this song. It makes me want to rip out my sh*Tty broken spine and flop around on a dance floor having fun.” The 405

“Death star dance action” Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music)

“Robed like some weird cult….Throbbing Gristle meets Young Fathers” Outline Magazine

“Sounds like: A mad genetic experiment between Casiokids and Blondie.” Click Music

Mega Emotion have played for John Kennedy’s (Radio X) Remedy showcase in London, and supported the likes of Shonen Knife, Thumpers, Lonelady and Yuck.
